Recording a Brand

To record a livestock brand, please consummate the enclosed application signed in ink by the bidder or applicants and render it to the Section of Food and Agriculture with the $70.00 recording fee.

Section 20662

Section 20662 of the Food and Agricultural lawmaking states the proposed brand blueprint must meet the following requirements:

Transferring a Brand

Renewing a Brand - Agricultural Code Sections

Section 20754. The owner of a brand shall, on or before Apr 30th later on its recordation, pay to the bureau a biennial period renewal fee of Seventy Dollars ($70) for the right to keep to employ the brand.

Section 20722. If the renewal fee is not paid past April 30th following the recordation of the brand, or by April 30th of the year that follows the last year for which the renewal fee has been paid, the right to use the brand is suspended as of April 1st of that year.

Section 20756. If the right to apply a brand is suspended for failure to pay the renewal fee, it may exist reinstated within 1 year from the appointment of suspension upon the payment of the biennial renewal fee of Seventy Dollars ($70) plus a Xxx Dollar ($30) penalty fee.

Section 20723. If the right to use a brand is suspended for more than 1 year, information technology becomes forfeited on April 1st following the yr of interruption. The brand may, thereafter, be rerecorded past the old owner or information technology may be applied for by any other person pursuant to this affiliate.

Section 20222. Any person who uses an unrecorded, forfeited, or canceled brand shall pay a penalization upon a get-go violation of one hundred dollars ($100); upon a second violation within the same 12–month period, a penalty of two hundred dollars ($200); and upon a third or subsequent violation inside the same 12–month period, a punishment of v hundred dollars ($500), which is in addition to any other penalty provided past law.
